The project
The homeowners were opening up their backyard, and the old wood stairs and deck were rotting. They needed a safer, more practical way down from the house into the space they were about to landscape.
We removed the old structure and built a new run of stairs that turns onto a broad landing, then steps down on two sides. White risers and fascia frame each composite tread so the steps read clearly, and a lattice access door keeps the space under the stairs usable.
Pavers and landscaping come next, and the stairs are sized for the patio that will meet them.
